  1. You need 1 1/2 lb of ground pork.
  2. You need 1/2 lb of ground veal.
  3. You need 1 medium of onion, chopped.
  4. You need 2 tsp of salt.
  5. It’s 1 cup of brown rice.
  6. You need 5 large of (green) bell peppers.
  7. You need 16 oz of crushed tomato paste.
  8. It’s 1 cup of sauerkrautt.

German Stuffed Peppers step by step

  1. Cook rice halfway.
  2. Mix meat, onion, rice. Add salt/pepper to taste.
  3. Cut off top and clean out inside of peppers, hard boil peppers for 5 minutes and remove.
  4. Mix meat and rice.
  5. Stuff the meat mixture as tightly as possible into the peppers.
  6. Spread sauerkraut on bottom of a baking dish.
  7. Put peppers in dish, pour in crushed tomato paste about halfway up the peppers.
  8. Bake between 90 minutes to 2 hours at 325°F Fahrenheit.
